He works in the lively niches between visual art, design and performance. Peim sticks stickers on paper - and in this case even the walls! - in a systematic yet sometimes random manner, making his style easily recognizable. He creates patterns and compositions and with that he tricks the viewer’s perception. For Peim, the process of making &nbsp;a work is as important as the work itself: stickering stickers is like meditation to him. The title of the installation is UNFOLLOW, a challenge to the buyer or "An ironical way of dealing with our social media addiction" as Peim van der Sloot describes it himself. Unfollow is 1 of the 8 installations that are exhibited during the solo exhibition of the same name by Peim van der Sloot at Gallery Oz in Amsterdam. All installations are a reaction to the sensitive, sometimes bizarre, relationship between money and art. A particular image on itself when you walk along the walls of a gallery or art fair. This sticker has emerged in many forms and languages within the work of the artist. For the exhibition in Gallery Oz this fascination comes through in its full experience. Every work has its own method of transaction. For example, there is a ‘blind bidding’ where you put your bid in the black box, without knowing what others have offered. Or, let luck decide the price of the artwork by giving the ‘wheel of fortune’ a spin. Walking around the exhibition space the visitor can even make money themselves. When a buyer decides to buy the work "Para todos todo" (with a value of €700), this amount will be divided among all visitors who are present at that moment. When Peim van der Sloot's self-portrait is purchased, the buyer can decide what to do with the money. Dandelions probably arrived in North America on the Mayflower—not as stowaways, but brought on purpose for their medicinal benefits. Despite its useful properties, the dandelion is commonly regarded as a weed, as a result of the rise of lawn culture&nbsp;and marketing by herbicide companies.Lawn monoculture was a reflection of more than an interest in offsetting depreciation, it propagated the homogeneity of the suburb itself. Although lawns had been a recognizable feature in English residences since the 19th century, a revolution in industrialization and monoculture of the lawn since the Second World War fundamentally changed the ecology of the lawn. Intensive suburbanization both concentrated and expanded the spread of lawn maintenance which meant increased inputs in not only petrochemicals,&nbsp;fertilizers, and&nbsp;pesticides, but also natural resources like water.
